7-9-24   THOUGHTS

My littleness before God is good for me to contemplate.  I’m always impressed as I read God’s own words to Job in chapters 38-42 or so.  The perspective is so large that it boggles the mind. Job ends up saying  "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees You;  6  Therefore I retract, And I repent in dust and ashes."  Job 42:5-6   Whenever men in the Bible knew that God’s presence was near, the response is similar to Matt 17:6   “When the disciples heard [this,] they fell face down to the ground and were terrified.”  Be in AWE children of God!

Job 38:1-13     Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,  2  "Who is this that darkens counsel By words without knowledge? 3  "Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me! 4   "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding,  5  Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it?  6  "On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone, 7  When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy? 8  "Or who enclosed the sea with doors When, bursting forth, it went out from the womb; 9  When I made a cloud its garment And thick darkness its swaddling band, 10  And I placed boundaries on it And set a bolt and doors, 11  And I said, ‘Thus far you shall come, but no farther; And here shall your proud waves stop’? 12   "Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, And caused the dawn to know its place, 13  That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?

My Prayer:
Father, help us in every place and circumstance to take our proper place before You.  May our hearts sing of Your glory and majesty, and be joyful as we think of Your eternal loving kindness. That, Jesus saves,  is Your  gift to us.  We pray that  “our ALL” will be our gift to You.  Enlarge our willingness to serve, and our joy in serving.  Help us to see life through spiritual eyes and eternal perspective.  We want to please You in all, O Father.   In the name of our Savior,   Amen.
